Icon6 F23A4 to any F23A swap?

Hello All,

I am new to this site I would first like to thank anyone reading this and taking the time be willing to help!! So where do I start, first I got a 2002 Accord with a F23A4 SULEV engine that had a leaky water pump and like 5PSI at idle and 20PSI at 3k RPM's. Also, I just bought this not knowing any of this!!! The seller totally burned me and I'm already 4k in the whole!! SO PLEASE ANYONE HELP ME!!! First I ask if any F23A engine will work because my mechanic suggest that I just get a used JDM engine off eBay then rather keep thoughting money at the car. I need to make 100% this will work because I live in CA and need to also pass smog(its on NONOP)! So please anyone let me know for sure if this will work.

Thanks,
Me ;}

PS.

replaced the timing belt's and water pump, once the car started the oil light came on and the after 2k RPM's it would blink. Don't know if this will help.

obviously your mechanic has more details on the car than I do, but swap the engine just for an oil pressure issue? seems a bit overkill. I would imagine he'd be doing this work, correct?

your main question I have no certain answer for. I don't know the laws in California, and I don't know the intricate details that differentiate the fuel injection and emissions control systems between the various F23s. I know any F23 will bolt in and be able to use your existing manifolds and accessories, which in theory should be all it takes to make it work.

there is also the possibility of finding a good used ULEV motor in the US. then there would be no concern about passing inspection.

so you have low compression? bent/destroyed valve? which cylinder? blown headgasket? too many questions, not enough facts. get a second opinion.

where did you get any of those questions from? the pressure readings were from the oil not the cylinders.
