Dont laugh...how hard is this swap?
Im gettinga 90 crx si in a month or two to use a project,i swapped a b16a3 into my 95 coupe and put a custom turbo kit on it,welding and all was done by me,turned out great, now im wanting to get something a little more challenging.asa project id like to fit a h22 into the crx AND turbo it,is this practical or should i stick with the b series?
The H22 has been done into the crx but you are going to need to fab your own welded mounts or buy the weld in kit from place racing if they still sell it. I don't think you are going to have room for a turbo but I may be wrong. If you are looking for a challenge go for the h22...if not and you still want a pretty fast car go with a b series swap.
thanx,im fully expecting to have to weld everything, use hondata and even do some cutting to interior motor compartment if needed, just not sure if i would be gaining much over the b series,is there even a tranny i could use with out having to convert it to hydro?

i was gonna H22 turbo my Rex for racing only, duh. and the more i researched it,, that h22 licks the stick. the valvetrain is risky, the aftermarket line isnt all that great, plus youll spend alot of extra time and money just getting that engine in your car. that extra money could be used to resleeve/bore/rebuild a b18 to a 2.2L and it will make the same power, with a higher redline, which is nice. plus the b series swap into a CRX is mad easy. just my 6cents. im building a pure drag car that will be streetable and im not goin with the h22. dont go CRVTEC,, those engines dont last long. build up a b18!
