Default Transmission whine/transmission mount bolt size?

b20vtec with hydro tranny. Replaced worn out, slipping clutch with exedy stage 1 with new tob and pilot bearing that came with kit. Greased input shaft on install but got the whine when no pressure on clutch that goes away when clutch pedal is depressed. Whine gets a higher pitch with very slight pressure then goes away. Sounds like it would be pilot bearing from what I've read but it was replaced. Could I have gotten a bad one or could there be another culprit (mind the whine wasn't there before clutch replacement and there is no performance issue, just annoying/embarrassing). Plan to pull tranny next time I'm home to fix. Also, rear tranny mount holes are stripped, plan to helicoil while tranny is pulled; can anyone verify that they are m14x1.25?
Thanks for any input.

Default Re: Transmission whine/transmission mount bolt size?

After doing some more reading, the problem sounds more like the main shaft bearing. I'll have time to split the transmission over spring break if that is it but is there something that could have messed up the main shaft bearing during a clutch replacement or is likely one of the new/more accessible bearings is the problem?
