Default Headliner Question 00 Civic EX

I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX (Coupe) and am trying to remove the headliner and have gotten as far as trying to get the headliner out from around the sunroof there is a gasket that is holding it in, I can't seem to bend the gasket back enough to get the headliner out and over it. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Have you removed all the pillars, remove the rubber gasket around the sunroof opening?

Honestly I wasn't sure if the gasket was removable or not. I have removed the "A" pillars or pulled them out off and away from the headliner. Haven't contended with the back pillars yet.

Sorry I spent all day working on the car and being busy. I did get the headliner out but I did have to remove the sunroof gasket. Didn't really have to remove the quarter panel pillar panels completely. Got the headliner done by a local upholstery shop along with the sunroof panel and the visors, came out real nice! I have to work tomorrow but I might be able to put it all together before work, but I doubt it, cause I also painted the drums today and I want to put those back on ASAP an put the car in the garage. Thanks for the help and info!

I got the "flat knit" kind of fabric for the headliner, I don't really like the original "fuzzy" kind of stuff and with me doing all the work and removing the headliner myself it cost me $65 to get the headliner done and $50 for the visors. So $115 altogether. Without doing the work it would have run me like $200. Really hoping I can put it all together today 30 more minutes for the sun to come up!

Hopefully I can wake up my fiancé so he can help with the sunroof part lol.

Okay so I got my drum brakes all back together and all, it took me forever cause I've never done it before and I had to go to Honda to go pick up some clips and stuff that I broke but they didn't have some that I ordered and said it might be next week when they come in! So I took some pictures of before and after with the headliner off but I don't know how to post them? Do they have to be on the Internet somewhere or can I upload them from my phone's photo library?

Still having issues putting it back together, sunroof gasket doesn't want to go on correctly, mainly there is "extra" sticking up and I can't force it down to seal. I don't have much time each day cause of work so it's taking me forever I get it all back together. Also having issues putting on the visor hold clips and turning them into place.

Anyway! I wanted to get the interior customized but that's gonna be like $1,050 and I don't think that's even with leather or vinyl options, I can't remember the codes are written down but I got the quote a long time ago. But I went to the junkyard yesterday and there were a lot of 6th gen. civics with immaculate interiors! I don't want anything too fancy for my seats, mine are just faded badly and "well-used" I was thinking maybe I will just take out another civics interior instead. The seats are like $32 each at Pick N Pull. Sounds like a great deal to me!

Not sure what you mean, but if you are talking about getting the sunroof cover out of the headliner then you have to take the headliner off AND take out and dissemble the sunroof. That part is pretty easy actually. There is a DIY thread on it somewhere up here.

Finally finished with headliner today! First day off work in 7 days! Figured out the sunroof gasket problem too.
