Default 37820-p75-a54 ecu convert to manual help!!

Hi i have mini me 97 cx hb with a stock bottom y7 manual tranny and using an auto ecu. I bought it like this and now wondering if its safe to drive it with it until i get a new manual ecu. Also which is better p28 or p2p ecu? Ive heard of or have read things on the forums about converting it to manual ecu but when i open my ecu up i couldnt find the resistor for either rp17 and rp18 to solder up and jump. Please help

Ive swapped my integras transmission from auto to manual, and never did bother getting a manual ecu, nor did i try converting it to manual. I say leave that ecu as is till you build the car than go ahead and find your self a obd1 p28 or such.

If you have a stock Y7 and just converted it to manual just get a P2E ECU for a manual 96-98 Civic. The OBD1 ECU's are the ones you can convert to manual with the resistors.

Well i have a vtec head and the car has been manual tranny. I beleive that the previous owner just put the auto ecu on it. I have an obd2 harness if i try to get an obd1 dont i have to convert my harness too?

Since your running the stock y7 ecu, i know your vtec is wired up. You will need a p2p ecu being thats obd2-a if you want your vtec to work, but you will still need to run your own wires from the vtec solenoid and oil pressure sensor to the ecu.

And yes if you want to run obd1 you will need to get a jumper harness.

If you stay OBD2 and use the P2P you'll need to wire VTEC and the knock sensor along with converting the IACV from 3 wire to 2 wire.

If you go OBD1 you'll only need the VTEC and IACV wiring if you use the P28.

Thanks thats all i need to know. My iacv us already 2 wires and vtec are already wired up. So itll make it easier for me to wire it up using the p2p if the steps are the same thanks again
