air intake, is this good ?
Looks like a good place to me, but i'm sure you are aware that is more like a ram air intake than a cold air. What everyone defines as a cold air intake would be longer piping that goes down front bumper height to get the wind that blows down there and away from the engine heat at idle. Only problem is it is more expose to all sorts of natural disasters down there.
Personally I think it is better. You won't notice any significant gains of any sort, but I like that it frees up clutter under the hood by getting rid of the air box. If you like it and your car runs well, then its really a matter of preference.

the little grated snorkel up in front of the radiator, it was taking cold air to the factory box. now there is no cold air coming to the filter.
factory setup was the best.
other poster, you want air from in front of the radiator, not behind it….

FREE ADVICE:
Keep your car stock for a while. In the meantime place your money in a savings account and do a bunch of research. Determine a budget 20% less than what you actually have to spend. This is so when you run into problems or unforeseen hiccups, you aren't freaking out. Then make a performance goal. Start to explore builds that reach those goals, and plan your build accordingly. Once you have planned your build, then you can purchase the parts needed. After you have all the parts, then do all the upgrades at once and see if you met your goal.
This is much better that spending 100 Euros on a useless part over and over again.
box is pretty good, but restricted.
If you can get a larger diameter tube to match the throttle body and smooth inner walls for better air flow (rather than the ribbed rubber on the factory tube) then it's a step in the right direction.
Your battery helps block some of the hot air, but there isn't a lot to get cold air into that area.
If you lock down behind the battery, you will see a hole that goes into the factory resonator box.
You have to take the wheel and the plastic wheel well liner off and then you can remove the resonator.
Ideally you want to get some of that cold air up to your air filter.
I've seen people use clothes dryer duct to route air around to that hole in the fender behind the battery.
-OR- buy an intake that has the piping that goes through the hole in the fender so your filter sits where the resonator box was.
