Looks like a good place to me, but i'm sure you are aware that is more like a ram air intake than a cold air. What everyone defines as a cold air intake would be longer piping that goes down front bumper height to get the wind that blows down there and away from the engine heat at idle. Only problem is it is more expose to all sorts of natural disasters down there.

Personally I think it is better. You won't notice any significant gains of any sort, but I like that it frees up clutter under the hood by getting rid of the air box. If you like it and your car runs well, then its really a matter of preference.

worse.
the little grated snorkel up in front of the radiator, it was taking cold air to the factory box. now there is no cold air coming to the filter.
factory setup was the best.

other poster, you want air from in front of the radiator, not behind it….

100 Euros!!!! OMG tell me you are joking. My friend… you got ripped off. (If you think you got a good deal, then just contact me and I'll sell you some that perform just like it for 85 Euros.) Most likely this is worse than your stock setup. You would be better off keeping your box and putting a K&N box filter in it. Of course you can't say for sure without a dyno, but I think that is fair guess. Also this whole "cold air" thing might be somewhat misunderstood. You do want your intake air to be cooler, and so you need to keep it away from heat sources like your radiator for example. Ambient air temperatures under the hood can also be elevated thus increasing the temperature of you intake air. Where your filter is now, is likely not ideal but not horrible either. However, getting the absolute coolest temperatures is not the biggest concern you should have when designing the intake system (despite what AEM might want you to believe). A proper length and diameter intake pipe (tuned length and diameter) with a velocity stack should be the first concerns. You can get a filter that fits over your velocity stack for daily driving . Once you figure that out, then you can run the pipes to the cooler and well venerated area. Just slapping a cone filter on an untuned engine like that is not a performance upgrade. Sorry you wasted your time and money. I am not trying to be rude, sorry if I cam across that way.
FREE ADVICE:
Keep your car stock for a while. In the meantime place your money in a savings account and do a bunch of research. Determine a budget 20% less than what you actually have to spend. This is so when you run into problems or unforeseen hiccups, you aren't freaking out. Then make a performance goal. Start to explore builds that reach those goals, and plan your build accordingly. Once you have planned your build, then you can purchase the parts needed. After you have all the parts, then do all the upgrades at once and see if you met your goal.
This is much better that spending 100 Euros on a useless part over and over again.

so, the best is the original in the box, because of the hot air ?

box is pretty good, but restricted.
If you can get a larger diameter tube to match the throttle body and smooth inner walls for better air flow (rather than the ribbed rubber on the factory tube) then it's a step in the right direction.

Your battery helps block some of the hot air, but there isn't a lot to get cold air into that area.
If you lock down behind the battery, you will see a hole that goes into the factory resonator box.
You have to take the wheel and the plastic wheel well liner off and then you can remove the resonator.

Ideally you want to get some of that cold air up to your air filter.
I've seen people use clothes dryer duct to route air around to that hole in the fender behind the battery.
-OR- buy an intake that has the piping that goes through the hole in the fender so your filter sits where the resonator box was.
