Default f series camshafts

so basically real qwik
i just purchased a beautful virgin 97 coupe (will share later) with some valve damage. while rebuilding the head i thought to check and see which if any other f series camshaft would yield me some extra performance. i have a camshaft from an f22 from a 91 cb7 and i kinda remember reading somewhere that they are more agrresive than the later cd cam. i just cant seem to find that info anymore. anyone care to share or enlighten or hell point me to that thread. i seem to remember an f series engine build section somewhere but i may be wrong seeing as i havent been on any forums for at least 2 or 3 years now. any help is appreciated. thanks alot nd rock on lol

What F22A was in the 91 was it an F22A1, F22A4 or F22A6? Also, what F22B is in your 97? F22B1 or F22B2?

If you have the SOHC VTEC engine your F22A cam will not work. If you have the F22B2 Non VTEC then the F22A cam will work. The F22A6 is the more aggressive of the 4 camshafts and would be the more likely candidate for an upgraded stock camshaft.

Should also look into the F23 intake manifold and throttle body swap while your at it.

There are a number of regrind camshafts available for these engines if you are looking for a bit more. Delta, DDTech and Web Cams are a few companies that offer SOHC F22A/B aftermarket camshaft upgrades.

I do offer regrind / hardwelding options for the SOHC F series motors, I'm in the process of trying to source "NEW" cores for these motors as the demand is getting bigger for them.
