Default Tachometer on Cluster above 1k

Hello guys,

I have a 00 Civic Hatch. I replaced the original cluster with one that has a Tach inside of it, I've installed for a few weeks now. Ever since I installed it, I've noticed that the needle is always over the 1K gauge, even in park when the car is warmed up. I've never seen it sit on the 0 mark. What could be the issue? Photo below

Thanks alot

If the car is running it should never hit zero. If I recall, 650-750 RPM is the normal idle once warm. Not sure why your's never goes below 1000.

Ah ok, thanks for that. Could it be related to my TPS ? another issue is, when I put the car in 'D' it drives kind of fast, without me even touching the Gas..

You need to adjust your idle speed.

This^

...and also clean the IACV and throttle body. If you get no joy, then adjust the idle speed exactly as described in the diagram posted above using an external tachometer or scan tool to get an accurate rpm read.

Wait -- even with the engine off?
