Icon2 your opinion:Progress Technology or Raceland US?

hey guys i need a new suspension set up and am on a budget. i currently have k sport (i think they are the older model)on my del sol that i bought used. They are too stiff even after i tried adjusting the dampening on two of them, one front and one rear and the **** broke off causing the small ball and spring to disperse.

I daily this del sol so im looking for ride quality and a good drop like tire tucked or a finger gap between the tire and fender. I currently have equipped gsr engine and trans, GSR front tower bar, del sol si front lower sway bar, buddy club front and rear camber kit, asr 24mm rear sway with blox endlinks, asr subframe brace and rear strut bar. My driving stye is somewhat aggressive but most of the time i like to drive slow. ive read good stuff about both companies but cant decide although the decision should be easy to just get the Racelandus cuz they are dirt cheap. lmk

Progress street sport 350 front and 350 rear for $657 plus shipping 1yr warranty

or

Racelandus Ultimo 345 front and 290 rear for $399 plus shipping unmatched 2 yr warranty

Progress is good if you're looking to get the most out of your car and comfort is second I have the 350f/350r rates on my CRX, I daily it and it's pretty comfortable YOU CAN NOT SLAM ON PROGRESS COILOVERS. the lowest they recommend is 11.5" from center cap to fender which for the CRX is about one finger.

if you're looking just make your car look good and not race or anything, just get racelands.

TL;DR
Progress for Track or aggressive driving and not ****
Raceland for easy daily use

i dont plan nor like it slam. it looks good slam but cant function. based on your comment the 1 finger gap sounds about where i want it.

I have not used either and after lots of research I don't plan on using either. I was in the market for a set up for my del sol so I started to search in hopes of finding a good set up cheap. On another site I check, teamsolcal, a few people said they used racelands and were happy with them, when I looked up more info they just looked frail so I crossed those off the list. I have nothing but good things from progress besides the fact you can't slam it. I was close to getting progress, but I like to sit a little lower then they recommend. I ended up deciding to stick with what I know, ground controls and tokico illumina shocks. I have it on my EG and im happy with it. If you don't want to ride slammed, Id pay the extra money and go with the progress coilovers. We all use parts but all of our expectations are different. You might have to get the racelands or ride in a car with them and form your own opinion if you want them or not.I know my answer was not the greatest, just offering my .2. Good luck on your search.

Love my CS-II's. I just raised it up about 1/2 inch. Can't slam them but they get pretty low.

Progress has a special on the CS-II's for HT members. I think it was like $550 or something crazy like that. If I didnt already have koni/GC I would jump on that! That is an unbelievable deal!

Here it is!

Just a little input on the racelands. A friend installed a new set on his late 90's (don't remember the exact year 99' I think) miata and the rear two started leaking fluid about a month later. A couple weeks after that they blew out completely. Car was fully slammed so that may have been a contributing factor to their failure, but none the less a shock should not fail in just over a month. Side note: He previously owned a 94' civic that was equally slammed on an OTS koni yellow/ground control setup and never had a single problem with the shocks. He put roughly 32,000 miles on the setup before he sold the car. I know that because I serviced the car for him during his entire ownership of it. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. Progress makes a solid setup for the price but they are not designed and or marketed as being a coilover meant to slam a car. Most people recommend the koni/gc setup for obvious reasons. Impossible to beat koni's lifetime warranty on the shocks for the price and realistically how much is going to go wrong with the gc sleeves and eibach springs. Aside from the locking screws in the gc collars seizing up if you don't put a little anti-seize on them, not a whole lot.

I am not impressed by the surface oxidation on the threads of my CS2's. Not that Racelands would be any better...
