Default engine is reving wrong

I recently got my engine tuned by my neighbor. He changed my ECU for his in his integra and now my engine is reving weird. If i start pushing the gas down and its under 3000 RPMs, the car wont move very fast, but once it reaches 3000 it starts going fast. Any ideas on how i can fix it? He said to get it dynoed but I'm not sure

lol how did he "tune it" I hope to god he didn't just give you his teg ecu and say done. What engine/mods what ecu did you have before this and what ecu do you have now. and if he said get it dyno's that's NOT getting it tuned he just stole your ECU lmao.

Is your neighbor a kid called Hazma?

What engine do you have in your car? What wiring harness? What ECU (specifically) did your neighbor put in the car? Do you have any mods? Is your CEL on? Does it work? There is entirely too much information missing for us to tell you what's going on here.

Okay I'm not a huge car guy but i trust the guy who did it. He used to race the integra and did pretty good. But I needed a timing belt replace and he was showing me how to do it. But once it was done the car was not running correctly so he said he would try and fix it and it took like a week to get it fixed. We had to replace a ton of stuff like my alternator and he redid a lot of the wiring. But he was just seeing if the new ECU would work and he just took it from his integra. But since it was taking so long he just told me i could keep the ECU and he would buy a new one for his Integra

Oh boy, this is probably going to be an entertaining clusterfuck. Look at the ECU, figure out what the code is, and also post a picture of the plugs. If this all started after a timing belt replacement, then the replacement was done incorrectly - that has absolutely nothing to do with the ECU. You need to invest in a timing light.

well the guy said that the way it revs is made for autocross which is what he did. But would the ECU not affect that?

"The guy" is a ******* idiot. Stop letting him work on your car. Stop letting him sit in your car. Stop letting him even LOOK at your car.

Post a picture of the plugs going into the ECU. We can try to work from there.

find stock(virgin) P75 ECU and use that, that's a horrible excuse for auto x you want low down tq as most of the time you're going under 40mph around cones. I don't even do auto x and i know that. no chipped ecu would have it bog under 3k then come on like a turbo after 3k.

More specifically, you should use a P75 ECU that matches the OBD variant of your car. If you have a 96-98 Civic, you want an OBD2A P75. If you have a 99-00 Civic, you want an OBD2B P75.

Yep, match the ECU variant to the chassis harness used.

Except immobilizers are easily removed, and you can't just plug and OBD2A ECU into an OBD2B harness.

If you noticed, he allowed someone else to work on his car...doesn't sound qualified to modify the immobilizer chip. Its better to get the obd2a and get the conversion harness.

And there are a number of professionals out there that can remove immobilizers for cheap.
