eg hatch window shock locked up
one of my window shocks like locked up i guess and i didn't notice obviously until i put it back down, thus ripping itself from the screw hole and now it dangles from the window... It won't go back in so i can't screw it back..
is there a way to fix this or is it done for good..?

Hard to say without actually seeing it. If the shock itself is still functional and the threads still reasonably intact on the end of it, it might just be as simple as ordering that part that goes on the window. I've done it once before, going to do it again since my other one did the same thing you described.

Pics? You could try penetrating oil, which can be had at your local home depot for a few bucks. Spray it into the gas shock and let it sit overnight. try to use it in the morning, and if it still doesn't budge give it a couple whacks, and if it still doesn't budge then get a new one.
But pics will be nice.

Then yeah, replace it. I was thinking it gave way on the glass side. Probably a good idea to chase the threads to make sure it's clean before threading the new one in.
