Default 93 civic keeps blowing tail light fuses

Hello There!! I recently put an aftermarket stereo in my civic and after about a month, the dashlights and tail lights fuse blew. I checked the back of the stereo and there were some loose wires, so I taped those up and put another 10 amp fuse in, and it blows right away. I took it to a friend of mine who had the same problem with his car, but he put a 40 amp fuse in -.- The tail lights did come on but the wire started burning. What would you suggest doing to fix this now?

Thank you in advance

Alright, sorry for getting back to you late. Darn doctors appointments -.- I'll check that in the morning regarding the stereo, But as the wire in question has burnt the insulation off, shouldn't I replace that wire?

If so, what gauge wire should I look into picking up? I haven't been able to find either in the forums or other places online the proper gauge wire for that.

Also, try grounding your stereo directly to the chassis instead of to the black factory wire and see if that helps. I had a similar issue with my EF hatch years and years ago.

Alright goldsy, I will see if I can do that.

Love your quote btw haha

So I checked all of the wires, and no luck. I cant see any loose wires that haven't been taped off that could be the problem. Any other suggestions? I'd much rather do this myself than pay some electrician to look at it
