ABS delete question for the 94-97 tegs.
ABS system in my car hasn't worked for a while so time to get rid of it. I have the line BUT I have some questions. I'm not good at flaring so I'd like to get the 98 rs master cyl so I can avoid this, 2nd afaik the non-abs master will not work with the larger abs booster. Can someone confirm ? if so can I use a 99 civic dx one ?(civic is getting parted out). also could I use the 99 civic dx prop valve ?
thx
thx
I used a/n fittings and stainless lines on my prop valve and master when I did my delete. Saved me from having to make custom hard lines and flare them.
And you can't use a non abs master on an abs booster, it'll cause your brakes to lock up.

your teg is a 94-97 ? and I guess you didn't use the OEM rs lines then ?. yah figured just wanted to x2 check do you know if the 6th gen civic dx BMC/BB will work ?
Yeah its a 96. And I used front two lines from a non abs eg (they fit the same), then the other two I ran stainless lines.
I dont know off the top of my head, but if I remember correctly as long as you dont mix non abs with abs it should be fine. But ill try to find the thread for you I used when I did mine.

I think I might just leave it lol 28 lbs is a fair deal in terms of what's left that I can remove but still. I hated dealing with replacing the CMC/CSC, I'd rather get lexan windows more money but easier to install.
Ditch it, it cleans up your bay a lot. You will be happier.
Either use the stainless lines or you can just bend your own. I saw a hardline bender at harbor freight for like $5.
It's not as hard as it sound just a lot of open end wrench turning.

Im with him. The 94-97 abs system wasn't all that great either. You might have an issue getting to the lines on the prop valve depending on how far back your manifold sits, but everything else is pretty straight forward.

You gotta kinda fish them in there but mine was pretty stright forward, however the
98-01 prop valve has a slimer profile than the 94-97

Mc and bb are the factory abs ones. (96 special edition)
The 40/40 came from a DA I believe. I had the rs one, but sold it before I did all the work because I didn't want to make the lines or switch out the bb and mc. The only difference is the mounting bracket, the DA one doesn't use all the mounting bolts as the factory one does.
The lines I got from ebay, I think i searched for -3 female female or something and came across a few. Try to get some at least 18'' or longer. The fittings were kind of weird to hunt down, the three m10x1.0 I ordered from downstar. The 12x1.0 I ordered from a fitting place online, if I remember the site ill post it for you.

-3 is the line size. And for the bmc your going to need one m10x.10 (passenger side port I think) and one m12x1.0 (driver side port I think) because theres two different size fittings on there for 94-97. The other two ports on the proportioning valve are m10x10.
By fittings I mean these things

And the only stainless lines I ran were from the two master cylinder ports to the proportioning valve lol. The lines going to the calipers from the prop. valve I picked up from an eg with no abs and it fit perfect.

I have 4 hardlines (the two rear ones, and the two front ones from an eg). Then I have the two stainless lines on the other two ports of the prop valve. As for the fittings you may have to look around for them, I know when I was getting ready to do mine it took me a little while to find the m12x1.0 fitting. And if you'd like I can post a picture of the type of stainless line I used.
Then he'd have to change his brake booster and master cylinder for those lines to be a direct fit. Or he'd have to cut, bend, and reflare the rs lines to fit the regular abs BB/MC.

ok so for the 2 fronts I'd be replacing the part that comes from the prop valve and connects to the rubber brake line to caliper in the front.
and for the "from prop valve to rear" lines will need to be from a non abs eg/dc ?, also just wondering the "from prop to rears" aren't the ones that go under the car are they
?. I think I found the fitting http://www.ebay.ca/itm/AN-3-to-M12-x...90aaae&vxp=mtr ? and yes if you could that would be very helpful !
Correct, the two front hard lines go into the wheel well and connect to the soft lines. The rears you dont need to worry about, they're all the same (thankfully).
The fitting might work, if thats the actual picture of the one they're going to send you it should have a indent on the bottom.

Similar to that ^. Thats so it sits around the port in the MC and not on top of it (if that makes sense).
Ill get a picture of the type of line I used up in a few. Your going to most likely need one or both with a 90º end, depending on how long you order the lines.

Pretty sure the length of them were 24'' but you may want to use some string to measure and leave a little slack, because the stainless lines dont like to bend too dramatically lol.
