do i need to change my axles if i do an h22a swap and if so what ones do i need
i have a 96 honda accord exr and i would like to do an h22a swap and im wondering if my stock axles will work without modification.
if you are not changing your transmission from auto to stick or vice verse then there should be no need.
You either want to go all Accord or all Prelude.
The intermediate shafts are different between the models but are interchangeable. I actually think I did a Prelude passenger axle in mine since the Accord seemed to be binding up a bit. The Driver's side is the one that you need to be identical on.

i am changing from auto to stick so is this going to be complicated? also if i need to change them what parts do i need to buy.

Furthermore, the statement that claims Prelude axles will work in the Accord as a complete set (once we assume that we're talking about '92-'96 Prelues and '90-'97 Accords) can't be true because there is a difference again between the Accord generations. So if the Prelude setup were to work in one Accord application then it couldn't possibly work in the other.
These are the axle lengths for all three models mentioned for cars with manual transmissions:
'92-'96 Prelude
Left side - 22.685"
Right side - 24.75"
'90-'93 Accord
Left side - 23.5"
Right side - 23.625"
'94-'97 Accord
Left side - 24.375"
Right side - 24.5"

I understand that many people swear by this but this is simply not true. You're not changing the way the engine phyically mounts in the engine bay in any way. The transmissions use the same case. The blocks between an F18A/B, F20A/B, F22A/B, F23A, H22A and H23A all use the same mounting points and are dimensionally identical where it counts. The holes where the intermediate shafts bolt in are also in the same exact locations. All that known to be true, how is it the case that you could have axle bind?

Also, having actually done the swap in my '96 Accord (which is what the OP has and is asking about) I wasn't just talking out of my ***.
You're also ignoring the intermediate shaft, which while the mounting points are identical, the shaft itself is different (male/female) which may help account for some of the differences in measurement.
You're also ignoring the fact that plenty of people online have been following those instructions and haven't had an issue.
nope!
but if u can switch out to ROH (rotor over hub) it would make it easier to swap rotors later on when doing a full brake job.
