Default 96 EK Hatch Central Locking Problem

Hey, Just picked up a nice EK last week, It's my first car and project, So I'm still learning. The central locking seems to be a bit temperamental, Works from the outside fine but, Rarely works from the inside, from the inside it will lock but, won't unlock.
I had the door panel of today and it was working fine for a while, then it went again.

Searched around for a few days and tried some solutions, tightened all the screws, sprayed with wd-40 etc. Some say it could be the cold weather, it's pretty cold here in Ireland now.

Here's a video I took of the lock and how it sticks:

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

The pas side doesn't unlock manually when the driver side is locked, when the driver side is unlocked from the inside, you have to push the lock switch and open the door at the same time on the pas side.
That doesn't bother me, as long as I can get the driver side to lock and unlock from the inside.

Am I on track by thinking that your problems are all mechanical rather than electrical? Have you considered simply replacing both door latches?

Yes, It's mechanical as far as I can see, Haven't considered that yet, I'm trying to find out what the problem is before I go replacing everything. Going to have a look at it tomorrow and see if I can figure it out.
Thanks for the help man! I'll post here if I find a solution for it.

So, I haven't replaced anything or found a solution yet as I'm not driving the car yet but, The problem seems to have got worse.

When I try to unlock the drivers door with the key it doesn't work, I'll have to keep turning the key and eventually it'll unlock. It locks perfectly from the inside and out, the only problem is when I try to unlock it.

Any idea what it is that I need to replace? Could it be fixed by replacing the door latches? Thanks.

Sounds like your lock rod clips may be worn or out of place. Try replacing those, or if they're out of place, install them correctly. otherwise new door handles come with them. they are very cheap.

It's something on the latch that's causing it as far as I can see, the rods are working fine but, something is jamming on the latch.
I think I might need to replace it, just making sure it's not something else.
