89 HB b series shift linkage removal
I was removing my shift linkage from my car and as i was hammering out the bitch pin, the extension got stuck in the shift linkage and the b*tch pin is like 60% out... Anyone got any suggestions, I used a 1/2inch extension, ive tried PBblaster wd40 working on making my own mix to see if I can get it out... Last time i used this extension to take out the b*tch pin it came out like nothing no problems...
Is it corroded? I'm not sure which 1/2" extension you are trying but you should be using a punch or better yet a spare metric bolt. If you are really stuck, it's going to take big channel locks, maybe side cutters (to pry it away) or heat with a torch.
First, why did you use a hammer to attempt to remove the roll pin? There have been a number of posts on how to do this without risking damaging the transmission. Second, use a large good quality c clamp, press the pin back into the collar and then use a 1/4" allen wrench cut down to length to press out with the aforementioned large c clamp. I have used this method for many automotive applications and find not only will you not damage the pieces you are working on, but you will not damage your hands with a hammer. At 51 yo, I have learned that I should not have used a hammer for many things as my hands now REALLY hurt. I hope this helps.

Why do people always use the WRONG TOOLS to try and remove this??? Never ceases to amaze me. If you use a PROPER diameter punch and a mallet, not one will ever call this the "bitch pin" since it will come out with ease every time.
At this point use a C-clamp like the above post indicates, then go to any hardware store and get the appropriate sized punch.
