93 EG Hatch B16A - blown head gasket?
Hey guys, I'm trying to see if I've got a blown head gasket. I was adding coolant in the radiator while it was running to bleed it, and the coolant began to start erupting over and over, basically doing the opposite of what I was trying. I dont think the water pump would flow that much to literally throw coolant everywhere... What do y'all think?
when it boils over it pukes out. did it over heat? need more info.
if it overheated then your thermostat isnt opening.
do you not have a resevoir? was this in the middle of burping/filling coolant?

If the block was empty, when you try to burp it, the thermostat eventually opens and flow begins. When steam and hot air are forced thru the liquid coolant on the "cold" side, an eruption happens. Pretty sure that's how hawaii was formed.
You're fine. Next time, fill the block up first. One way is to undo the upper rad hose from the radiator and pour coolant down it. When the block is full, put the hose back on the radiator. You'll get a little spillage....but no eruptions.
