Default why am I having bad tire rub on turns? function forum type 1

I got new tires so I had to raise my coilovers for the more tread that would be present . Whenever I turn while accelerating my tires will rub horrobly.Even like when I'm doing a small to medium turn going like 20 mph. All my springs are the same length, so preload on all them is the same. I can't spin any of the springs cause there to tight. I don't know if that how the factory has it. Should I try to adjust the prload to make my ride stiffer for not as much movement during turns.?

Preload (at any reasonable level, and unreasonable levels will produce their own issues) won't do anything to make the ride stiffer or to reduce suspension travel.

If you have tires rubbing, what you really need to correct is either the tire/wheel size of offset (which ever of those is wrong). If you're unwilling to do that, then raise the car up as far as it takes to not rub. If unwilling to do that, then you'll need to get stiffer springs, as that is the only way to make the suspension stiffer.

What size are the new tires? Did the old tires rub? How low is the car? Are the fender liners still installed? Have the fenders been rolled?

I am using the same size tires and the fenders are indeed rolled. Im assuming now that the new tread is casuing the rubbing. The tire size is the same but with the old and new together the newer ones look bigger in size.

^^this

especially with function and form type 1 you don't ever want to mess with the preload as it is set at it best for what is was made for only the height adjustment should be mess with for desire ride height.

to op what exactly is your rims, offset, tire size and what car is it on? this will help best answer your question.
