Default 2002 Honda Accord EX Coupe

Hello Everybody,

Recently my my check engine light came on and after that I noticed that my car revs up when I turn but I don't go any faster at all. It takes a few seconds then my car just jumps and accelerates. More recently at random times my car won't let me go past 20 mph and the transmission revs like crazy when I hit the gas but again I don't go any faster.

My car is a 2002 honda accord ex coupe with a v6 transmission.

I've been told a couple of different things by a couple of different mechanics (need a new transmission, need a transmission flush, low transmission fluid) but not sure who to trust. Kinda seems like they care more about my money than my car. Honestly don't know what to do. Does anyone know what might cause a car to rev up and not accelerate like that?

PLEASE DONT SAY NEW TRANSMISSION!!!!!! IM A POOR COLLEGE STUDENT AND THOSE GET EXPENSIVE!!!! Hahaha anyways let me know guys thanks

Okay okay so I figured out that it was leaking tran fluid and replaced the seal. BUT the next day right after I got on the road I didn't make it 1 mile without the check engine light coming on and then the car started shaking. After that D4 started flashing and the car wouldn't move anymore. Had to get home using D3 and been doing that ever since. It takes a really long time for me to pick up speed. Not really sure what that means. Suggestions?

means you may not have first and second gear maybe. try to manually shift through the gears. other than that, you will more than likely need a new trans.
