Stock 1999 EX transmission and axles.

The intermediate shaft wont seat all the way or that's what it looks like. Turning clicks on normal full turns and all sharp turns. My car info is in my signature.

You'll need to post car, engine, and transmission information.

you have to hit it in or just push really hard, have not ran into a driveshaft that I didn't have to ram in. take it out and keep trying.

Tried that. There's only one seal inside the axle hole, the axle's only 1cm away from seating and c-clip was tightend some. How the pictures look?

Go to the FAQs sticky and read the popular and informative axle thread.

Tried that. I read every forum and post from many websites on this specific problem.

I want people to post the specific technique from their own personal experience that they used to assemble it back the correct way

Thanks

If you read through the thread, then your axle job would be complete. Please don't waste member's time by asking them to regurgitate a wealth of information already available in the Axle thread.

The stock 99 Civic EX does not have an intermediate shaft.

I wouldn't normally open a thread locked and deleted by another mod, but I will this time.

The diff bearing appears to be bad. Put a bar in the splined part of the differential and see if you can move it up and down. If so you'll need at the very least both differential bearings. You can see where the splined collar on the differential seems to have sunk down. Normally the axle will seat with a quick snap.

Thank you for opening the thread hopefully I still can make this thread have some type of significance or if not, then that's okay too. I read every post in the sticky maybe I should post there?

I don't understand what you mean with the bearings.

I took it apart again today and I measured the distance from that shiny bar like thing in the center of the differential and it is the same distance from the tip of the inboard joint to where it would seat perfectly and I assume when I put the axle all the way into the differential that the c-clip or set ring isn't a problem.

I did find or make a new problem. The axle seal. I took it out and a piece of the inside rubber tore off. A skinny piece. The seal wasn't and won't get snug onto or fit over the 4 metal pieces inside the differential. Like putting a condom over a box. It just gets hung up.

Took it for a spin and clicks on tight turns. Gotta start checking my fluids now...Snow tommorw..

The Axle thread in the FAQs sticky is packed with helpful information. Did you go through all of the posts? For example, did you try this:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=307

Also, remove the oil seal in the picture and install a new one. Press in just until it is flush with the exterior of the differential.

The axle seal is driven in much too far. It's not supposed to fit around the differential, it's supposed to be flush with the case, it looks like you've driven it a good 5/16" too far. Like Ron said remove it and replace it with a new one.

Stick something in the splined hole, see if you can move the splined part up and down, if so the differential bearings are bad.
