H22a7 project
I have a 97 Accord sedan with a H22A7. What would some upgrades that I should start with. I want to stay n/a, would boring and upgrading the pistons be a good start and would I Want to do anything with the crankshaft?
What is your budget and what are your goals and uses for this car?
What if any modifications do you have already and do you have a machine shop handy that can work on FRM cylinder engines?
I would say without knowing anything about your car, intake, header and exhaust. Then maybe a camshaft swap and some head work with larger valves and maybe some sort of upgraded intake manifold....individual throttles???? Your block is already in good shape for a well mannered street car.
if you want a monster H22 N/A build you can opt for sleeving the block and going with larger pistons... i would still start off rebuilding the top end first.

Ok...thanks for the advice. The is currently not my daily driver. I'm in Alaska , even with the LSD, I prefer the 4x4. I don't have a machine shop in mind yet. Just from the little reading I've done, I wasn't sure if I would even mess with pistons. It's seemed like people didn't mess with the pistons unless they are putting a turbo or supercharger on. I was thinking that I would have to build from the bottom up. Thanks for the tips.
