Icon6 96 Civic Engine Trouble - Please Help

A little background, I have a 1996 Honda Civic coupe with 240k miles. The car has never given me an issue. With in the past year i changed the spark plugs and o2 sensor.

I was hit with a snow storm and the car sat in front of the house, I went to start the car, when I pressed on the gas the throttle got stuck so i turned the car off and tried to start again with not touching the gas the throtle appeared to still be stuck and the engine began to scream so i shut it down. I figured it had something to do with the cold so i left it alone.

Today.....
I went to drive the car and she started fine no issues but i could tell something was wrong unsure what or how i knew but she didn't seem normal. The gas was empty so I decided to drive about 1/2 mile to gas station to get gas. After filling the car up and driving out of gas station to the red light the car idled fine but just as the light changed the car stalled out and didn't want to restart. After i let the car sit for about 5 min it hesitated but started as soon as i gave it any gas she stalled out. I open the hood and open the air filter the car started again with hesitation but i was able to give it a bit of gas then the car stalled out. I am unable to get the car to start again. It sounds as if it want to but won't. I am hearing what I can only describe as a popping noise from the muffler when I try to start the car.

Please help me diagnose the issue.

sounds like it's misfiring especially with a huge drop in mpg along with popping noises, when was the last time you changed the cap+rotor ?.

I need to bring the car to a shop for that as I am a DIY guy. Am i correct to assume that if all 4 spark plugs show a spark that the cap and rotor are good?

you're contradicting your self lol. no the spark acts differently when lets say you grounded it to the VC out in the open it can have spark but it would be weak. take it odd and have a look it's easy to tell if it's worn down.

Last night a mechanic friend and I went to the car and recommended I try some Dry Gas before we tow the car home. I poured it and she started almost right away. Personally I don't see how dry gas could work so fast but the car did start 2 seconds after i poured it and it got me to work today so the question remains what happen.

What makes you think OP's car runs on CNG?

OP, you don't have to take your car to a shop to pull the CELs. Read the FAQ's sticky - there's a DIY how-to there. Pull the CELs, and post the codes. Reset the ECU, and see what codes come back.
