What's the latest 1.8 and transmission that I can bolt right in. This 1.6 runs good but I want more power, plus I have a long drive and to keep up with traffic I feel I have to run the crap out of it. At 60mph it tachs 3 grand.

 

go the hybrid B20V route more tq then a 1.8 with it's 89mm crank.

 

Do you know the average Hp on those engines. And do you think it would bolt to my stock transmission?

 

All depends on what pistons and cam's etc along with a good tune. all b-series transmission's are cross-compatible but your d16 trans will not bold up to a b series engine. my set up pushed 247whp/152tq

 

I also use ls vtec.

But if you have the money and want stock reliability go with B18c1/c5
