I have a 2000 ex model civic originally single cam automatic, now its a swapped b16 5 speed but recently car wouldn't start so I changed out distributor from ebay fixing the problem and car started first try drove fine for 3 or 4 months then broke another distributor this time I bought OEM used from somebody off the forum fixing my problem again for about a month.
then distributor broke again while driving leaving me stranded so I decided something was shorting out causing the distributors to break replaced my hacked up wiring harness for uncut 2000 ex harness was told it was for manual also replaced ecu, obd2 to obd1 harness , spark plug wires and OEM distributor again and car has yet to get spark checked all my grounds and fuses. the one thing I haven't replaced is distributor jumper harness which I bought from rywire. really getting tired of dumping money into nonperformance parts can anyone help

 

what exactly is breaking on the distributer ? there's lots of components to them....

 

the icm seems to be the thing breaking but on multiple distributers
