Default Hawaii state inspection

What's up everyone? I currently live in SoCal but I'm going to be stationed in Hawaii starting August 2014. I've got a bunch of buddies who use to be stationed in Hawaii and they are telling me I need to get a state inspection and that my car probably won't pass. I've got a 2001 Integra that is nothing special. It is lowered however and that is what my boys are telling me will make me fail.

Do any of you island guys get grief from the inspectors? What should I be looking for? Should I even be that concerned?

Thanks for any and all help.

I'm not from the Hawaii but I'm sure you could check the rules & regulations on their dmv site

I'm from Hawaii and if I was you I would raise the car back to stock height get a safety and recon sticker so you can keep your car lowered.
