hey guys me again..

okay so after 1 week with my car this girl crashed me. my front left got bashed in. after 5 months without my car i finally got it back. now this is where my question begins..

when i first got my car back it wouldn't start with the key in the ignition while holding the clutch in, i had to jump the starter and would work fine. second my dash and control panel don't light up whatsoever. third i barely found this out today, i tried installing a new stereo and i had absolutely no power through the 12v constant/switch.

ive tried bypassing clutch neutral switch, checked fusses, both under hood and engine bay, used ohm meter as well, im at a total stump.

 

you got it back? from body shop? bring it back to them

 

If anyone has an answer to this, let me know. I have a similar issue in my '99 Si, my gauge cluster, or control panel will not light up aswell, checked fuses and everything and it seems to be fine, no light at all.

 

there is a small 15A fuse in the under dash compartment but I think you know that. Any loose wires related to the stereo shorting will cause it to blow/not work I had that issue pull the panels and inspect.

Op bring it back to the shop. But unless you brought it to some cheapo body shop whom you tried to lowball to work on JUST the body work . Than you're fucked.

EDIT: basicly you need to replace the whole harness on the side that got damage. There is a grounding block that needs to be hooked up to the body of the car.

 

regarding bringing it back to the shop i cant cuz i paid out of pocket not through insurance and just to fix aesthetics. so that wont really help cuz they dont know about it unfortunately.

replacing the harness is what im dreading the most, i want to exhaust all my options before i do that.

 

Check whether the rubber stopper at the top of clutch pedal fell out.

Check whether the 7.5A hood Back Up fuse and 7.5A dash fuse 30 are blown.

 

ok so after extensive checking i found a blown 7.5 fuse which gave power to my stereo, awesome.
now i just need to find out why my gauges are not lighting up and the clutch switch.

aside from the rubber stump what else could the problem possibly be. or does the rubber have complete control over the signal to start the car??

^^ OP, Swap fuse 30 with a good fuse. It could be blown in the thick part of the fuse where its hard to see.

 

Have you inspect the damaged area for any wiring slits? LOOK CAREFULLY.
