Default Repair Possible

I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX Coupe, I recently found that I have major body damage around the front driver tire wall (see pictures). From cursory internet search it seems this common for older cars. My car has spent most of its time in New York state. To be on the safe side, I have parked the car and currently not driving it all. I recently put in a some money and the car drives very well now mechnically. I have 201k miles on the car. Because of this damage I had a raptured brake line a few weeks ago. The damage has left sharp edges.

Can some please advice if the damage can be fixed? Is it worth fixing? It seems the damage is mix of rust, accident cracks and aging over time. The passenger side is fine and looks perfect.

Thanks.

It is repairable, but if you're paying someone to do the work it's probably going to exceed the value of the car.

It looks too far gone to economically repair. I'd say part it out, or find a clean rust free shell and swap the good parts over.

You have almost nothing holding your strut tower onto the body. Even if you did repair it, or have it repaired, I still wouldn't even think about trusting it with my life, and it'll probably never be aligned correctly again.

Scrap it.

You replace the whole shock tower, you couldn't just weld that up and ever hope to get any strength or a proper alignment out of it.

Even replacing the whole shock tower the proper way, I still wouldn't trust it.

Having seen what body shops can do to wrecked cars I think you could get a repair done that would be as good as new. They would cut out the tower and put in a new one. You must have some really bad roads you drive on a lot...

You could DIY but imo not worth the time if it were mine yah I'd try for fun cause I'm always up for a challenge. I'd replace the tower section then weld thin metal sheet strips over the seams inside the wheel well and engine bay. Would look weird but would be safeish if it worked.

All i decided it wasn't worth the repairs and I couldn't sell it anyone who might drive it and possibly hurt themselves or others. Traded in for a new Toyota. Sad day.

What would even cause this? OP says it's "common" - really? Doesn't look rust-induced.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any rust down there either. Maybe it's common if you're the kind of idiot who likes jumping your car?
