just wondering where to start... gonna mess with it today a bit. from what iv read -20 /-25 with 0-15% fuel gain is an ideal starting point? just want to make sure never messed with it. i would imagine i would want atleast 7-8lbs of boost. the car has never been tuned this high. its sitting at 398 -no traction what sooo everr

I usually start in the -15/-20 with +10%/+15%fuel area.

the amount of boost you can build with launch control is much different than the amount of boost you WANT to build during launch. every setup will be different, and will like different settings, different rpms, and different pressures.

smaller turbos and/or higher compression will typically respond better to lower pressures during launch, because they're capable of faster spool and higher power per psi. launch rpm also largely depends on your torque curve, and your tranny's gearing, and the level of traction you have at that specific moment (track, tire, and temp dependent).

IE: my buddy's car is only capable of building 6psi at 6k, and it's still not enough for a nice solid launch. his turbo is simply too frickin big, and it's a low comp motor.
my car is capable of building 30psi at 6k, but my best launches have always been at part throttle and in VACUUM at 5500, around 10"/hg of vacuum, because I run higher compression and a smaller turbo. my spool is almost instant when over 4k in ANY gear, whereas my buddy's car can barely even spool at all in 1st and 2nd gear because of how huge his turbo is and the engine is not loaded up enough for long enough in those gears for the turbo to really get spinning fast enough to do anything lol.

Start with the bold and go from there. You'll need to do some testing to see what the car likes, obviously. One car may leave with a 1.5 60' while the next May pull a 1.7 based on the same launch control. What I mean here is, there is no end-all answer I or we can give you.
