coolant temp fluctuating and oil leak
I picked up a 99 SI about a month ago that has turned into a headache. car was low on power and I found the cat was stopped up after I took the cat off it was pouring white smoke. I did a compression test and found cyl's at 170,160,130 and 160. as I tore the motor down I found the timing belt four teeth off and when I removed the head I found some machine shop ran the head across a belt sander so I began digging more my machine shop said #3 valves were leaking, it needed a valve job and they would resurface the head . I tore the engine down in the car put in new rings, had the head rebuilt new guides and Honda seals. I replaced all the gaskets with Honda gaskets, new t stat and ARP head studs.
after the freshen up I noticed a small oil leak at the corner of the right (pass side) front side of the head oil puddles up. ive added oil dye and checked it with a dye light theres no oil coming from the top of the head from dist, vtec solenoid or cams. has anyone seen anything like this? could it be oil drain back passage at the corner?
next is coolant temp it comes up to normal operating temp and will fall under hard acceleration. never has over heated at all, heat blows hot stays hot after it goes down may take a few miles to come back. ive thought maybe air pocket but I think it would go up not down. any ideas?
sorry for long winded post but im at wits end with this spent good money and took my time at this just something I haven't seen. ive had a dozen LS motors ive torn apart and never had a oil leak like this I had another B16 years ago once never had it to leak at the corner

Dunno bout the oil leak, you did your home work with the dye and still can't find it that is something else indeed. Nothing from the valve cover maybe? I'd have to see what corner and the layout of your motor to even begin guessing where it might be coming from.
I know it's a stupid question but did you burp her after adding coolant? usually the temp fluctuations are air pockets in the coolant lines. A nice hill is the easiest way to burp em so I've been told. Nose up and bleeder valve usually.

i guess my question on the oil leak is has anyone else seen this? if so what did they do to resolve the problem? i did use a honda headgaskets
the coolant issue i have lifted the front up at home as high as my jack would lift the front end. i have one of those funnels that attaches to the radiator to let it burp out the fluid but i cant seem to find the attachment for a honda. i thought about raising the front end at work on a lift but not sure how my fellow techs would feel about me lifting the front end three feet in the air to burp out air.

Are you sure its not your valve cover barely leaking and running down the head/block lip? Could also be the dizzy seal, had that happen. The leak was so slight that you really could not tell and the dye was useless... try using corn starch or baby powder. Blow some on the engine in that area. Corn starch will stick to oil like a magnet...
