Default Opinions needed

Hey guys/gals,
Looking for an opinion on which suspension you all would recommend/prefer. I recently had my civic stolen and stripped. It was sitting on Omnipower sports (12K/10k) and of course those are gone. I am starting to source parts to replace/rebuild and I am at a cross roads when it comes to suspension. I can't get Omnipowers any longer for a price I am willing to pay, I got my old ones for $450 used for 1 season of dragging by speedfactory. So I have 2 options I'll throw out.

1) Tein HA's off an ITR. They will come with the ITR LCA's and ES bushings. $750
2) Progress CSII. 450f/500r. I will need to buy the top strut mounts to run these, I am missing mine so they too will equal roughly $700

Ready GO. This is my DD. I LIKE a stiff ride. I know neither of these will bounce. Opinions are appreciated. Thanks

For $800 you can go Koni/GC. You choose your own spring rates, and have damping adjustability. Plus lifetime warranty on both products.

Both my brother and I have Koni/GC and neither of us have any complaints about them. I'm running 10k/8k on my Accord, and my brother is running 8k/8k on his Civic.

Your other setups are good options as well though.

I like the koni/GC setups, but I don't like sleeve setups. Thats my only hang up on those.

Also where are you guys finding them for $800? Everywhere I search is about 1k
I am curious to hear your opinions on type r style strut and mounting point vs. eg style. (Bushing in strut vs. bushing in LCA)

One of the Forum sponsors (THMotorsports) sells them on here for $800 shipped for most cars.

I wouldn't consider Koni/GC a traditional "sleeve" setup because the sleeve fits very snug and doesn't rattle around at all.

Well the type r strut style weights more due to design. Personally I would stick with the civic.

I love my CS-II's 350/450 on my hatch. Not a single complaint.

The weight difference is not a big deal to me. 5-10lbs on a daily won't make a difference.
I have heard nothing but great reviews about the progress CS-II's. Only thing holding from pulling the trigger is I'll need to find some stock upper strut mounts which I would probably buy new for $80-$100 plus I need to buy LCA's.

I'll see what kind of price they can get them to me for. I do like the ability to pick my rates and know exactly what they are, I would run a 600/550 setup, I like it stiff.

The Best thing about buying the HA's off the ITR is he is including the LCA's with the coils for a total of $800. With either other setup I'll have to buy LCA's which will cost more in the long run. The only thing I don't like is he can't remember the rates, just said they are "stiff". They are in mint condition, no rust which is a plus.

I'd say koni/Gc or look into SLIDE industries for some custom rates, they have some awsome customer service that will help you build exactly what your looking for. I personally run a set of megan streets that I got rebuilt to handle a custom rate. I believe megan has some quailty products now in my opinion.

Any more opinions on ITR vs. EG style rear suspension?

If I ended up going the GC/Koni route I would get 600F and 550R and run the front dampening slightly softer than the rear.

Also, just going to throw this on here as well. Trying to decide what tire size I want to run. I have 15" TE37's. I'm thinking 195/50's unless someone has a reason 205/50's would be better.

There's a lot of opinions on spring rates, but if your going to run a lesser rate in the rear go with a bigger bar in the rear(asr 22mm or 24). My track car runs 205 50 15s very common and easy to find. Ethier would be fine honestly.

I think you have a better selection for summer performance tires with 205/50/15's. I run 205/50/15 z1 starspecs on the street and 205/50/15 Hoosiers a6 for the track.

The Koni/GC setup is a firm setup and many people swear by it. Unless you intend to change your ride height often, they're the way to go.

This car will be my DD and will see more trips to the drag strip than a auto-x course. Most of my "spirited driving" will be done on country backroads or across mountain passes just for some fun corners. Im just about sold on the koni/GC setup because of the warranty and eibach makes a killer product. As far as tires go I was just asking from a performace aspect as well as visual some too.

I don't do "slammed" I just like to close up the gap and have a nice stance. I'll be running 15x7 +40 TE37's. I'm not sure they look better on meatier tires or slightly lower profile.

I did some pic searches and 205/50's is what I decided on. I like the clearance they provide and they also make it easier to look "tucked" without slamming it. I don't wanna smash up my header and exhaust.
Thanks for the input fellas. I think I'll go with something new just for warranty sake.

HA's are only like 8/6K, IIRC, not very stiff at all.

$799 shipped with your choice of rates, can't really beat it. Especially with the lifetime warranty. With top mounts it would bring the price closer to 1k.

Wow thats all they have for rates? I tried looking ot up but didn't find much. I'll definitely look onto GC that much harder. Or the Progress CSII's with 450# springs all around

I'm not sure how low you were in the past, but I remember reading somewhere that CS-IIs weren't meant to drop more than 2-2.5".

From what I saw, but there isn't really much about info about the HA's that I've seen. But maybe they offered the choice for stiffer rates?

My civic right now is 550/450. It's "stiff", but not that bad.

I had 12k/10k omni's on my car before it was stolen and didn't mind it at all. They rode better that F2's type 2.5's on my buddies hatch at 10k/8k.
Like I said I plan on dragging more than anything, and hitting some corners on occasion. I will be doing an ASR rear end (LCAs, subframe and 24mm swaybar) so I know I can go a little softer and make up for it with bracing. I'll probably throw an ITR front sway bar on w/ a 3 point upper and leave it at that and fine tune with dampening so I think 550-600F and 500R will suit me ok If I go with the GC setup.
