B18c starting issue
Ok so I recently just acquired a 97 cx hatch with a 2000 itr full swap minus ecu. The car is running currently a obd2 p72 ecu but thats not where the issues started.
Here's the issue, I had a obd1 p72 with a itr base map chipped with chrome. Now the car was driving fine besides the occasional bogging and idle issue, the MAP sensor would have to be plugged in to start up and then would have to be unplugged for the car to operate. I tried doing the ignition timing to see if this would fix anything and i noticed that when i would push the distributor towards the firewall the mark on the crank sensor would be near TDC and the car would almost bog and die, then I pulled the distributor towards the front of the car and the 3 lines wouldn't line up with the mark on the timing cover. Now is the timing off at this point?
The other question is that I drove the car to a friends house the car ran fine, shut the car off it sat for 15 mins and went to start it and it would just crank, let the car sit over night and went back the next day. It did the same thing all over, I switched out the obd1 for the obd2 ecu and it started to fire and then initially fired. The car ran fine and I got it to my mother-in-laws, left the car for 2 days and went to go pick it up, for work the next day and it wouldn't start. It is getting fuel, spark, all fuses are good, relays good, and grounds are good.
So what more can I try and do because I don't know what more to do.
