98 LX automatic transmission issues
So, from what I've read, these transmissions seem to have some issues. My car has 138k on it, and the transmission is slipping. No codes. It shifts completely fine when it's cold, but once it's at operating temp, it slips from 2nd to 3rd and a little from 3rd to 4th. The rpm jump is usually under 500, but every now and then it'll jump a lot. If I accelerate very aggressively, it doesn't really slip, but this is also killing my gas mileage.
So, before I replace the transmission, are there other things I should check? I cleaned the throttle body an reset the ECM as those things seemed to help others, but it didn't help. I'm going to change the fluid tonight and see if that helps, but from what I've read, it usually doesn't. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
