Hi my name is Caleb and im wondering why my oil wont seep down into my crankcase. I filled the engine with about 3.5 quarts of oil. I took the dipstick out and nothing was on it. Ive let it sit for an hour and still nothing on it. I turned the car on for about 30 seconds, checked and still nothing. Am i missing something stupid or is someting serously wrong.

 

Are you sure you have the correct dip stick?

If it was not "seeping down" you would have 3.5L of oil under the V/C, do you see oil under the V/C when looking into the oil fill hole? 94

 

Took the valve cover off and no, there is no excess oil under the valve cover/ in the head. How long should a b18a1 dipstick be. I have stock block,crashaft,pullies,oilpan,pistons. Only mods in head wich are stage 1 CAMs and AEM adjustable cam gears. Oh, and cold air intake. Is it maybe the oil pump. Some one was telling me about looking at the oil light on my dash.
Do i even have an oil light on a 93 civic si hatch dash?

 

Never mind I was told wrong about the amount of oil to be put I'm the engine. Italrs 5 quarts

 

did you start it then recheck it?
