I have searched for this and surprisingly didn't find anything of use.

Im trying to install and aftermarket Volt gauge cause i seem to have alternator/battery problems intermittently and wanted to monitor it.

The gauge i have has gauge ground, gauge positive, light ground, and light positive. The grounds i don't have an issue with but i don't know where to put the positives.

I was thinking about putting them off the ignition switch or interior lights power but cant find any diagrams for either.

any suggestions

OMG, just put it on any 12v source positive when driving, It's all the same everywhere.

 

Thank you captain obvious but it would be nice for the thing to turn off when my car does so my battery doesn't die.

 

Tap it off of Cigarette lighter?

i like the cigarette lighter idea for the gauge itself but id like the light to go off my other gauge lights.

 

The easiest way to get gauge light wire without major disection in your Accord is to pop out the dimmer switch to the left of your steering wheel and wire it there to the black wire. They will dim with the rest of the lights also.

You've been going to school for 3 years for what ****, automotive? So after 3 years you still don't know where to find a switched 12v source! They must teach you electrical in the 4th year eh!
