replacing clutch over holiday, no clutch alignment tool
Title says it all, I ordered a new clutch online because mine is slipping like a ****, said it was supposed to have alignment tool but doesnt.
anyone know anything that would prove a reasonable substitute? Ill be replacing it either today or tomorrow so need something quickly if possible.

advanced auto parts sells a universal clutch tool that's like a tapered cone and different attachments that will work with any transmission..... harbor freight has them for 10 bux and u will never need that plastic tool int he box again. ive used these before and they work perfectly. advanced wants almost 30 bux for thiers... I don't know how much mechanic work u do but if u do a lot like me its worth having... pic of tool here:

just like jdmh22eg2 states in his reply
use socket or finger to get aligned as close as possible with pressure plate a little bit loose to where clutch disc can still be moved around a little bit.put transmission back once transmission is on you can actually tighten the pressure plate inside the starter hole rotating the crank to get to the next bolt.
did this and it worked for me

Deep 10mm socket with a 6" extension, wrap the part of the socket that goes through the splines in the clutch disc with electrical tape to make it the correct diameter. If you don't have a socket that fits get a piece of wooden dowel, or anything really that fits pretty snugly in the pilot bearing, then build up the the part that goes through the clutch disc with tape.
lolz with all the tool, it be nice to have an alignment tool much easier but not necessary, i done it many time just using my finger just don't tighten the pressure plate bolts make sure the clutch is center then torque the pressure plate to spec.
