Default unusual issue

Hi all,
I have a strange issue with both of our swapped cars. It goes like this, under part throttle acceleration, it feels like there is a lag from the time the additional fuel is added and the timing is added to burn said additional fuel to accelerate. I would think there is something up, but both of the cars do the same thing.
Both cars OBD0 jdm b16 swaps done less than a year ago. Anyone having this issue? What could cause this? My wife says it feels like VTEC coming on and off, I feel that it is a fuel curve/timing curve not in sync issue. These cars have the same ECU, engine etc. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Dave

Your not getting any codes? Sounds like map or tp sensor.

Check the TPS sensor and calibrate it.

yes both cars have the proper sensors, including both O2, iacv, fitv, map (on the car and functioning with the original engines) all are wired and functioning. this is why I asked for help, the same problem on both cars, have an em1 si car, it doesn't exhibit any of the same issues. I am aware that obd0 and obd2a are different, however the obd0 cars shouldn't run like this. btw tps checked out good, 0.4-14 with smooth transition throughout the span of the travel. any other ideas. please help me!

o2 sensors can be reversed, the one that fits oem plug goes to the other pin at the ecu.

calibrate tps sensor
should be putting out .45v at no throttle. adjust similarly to your distributer

doesn't matter what rpm, can happen from 2k and up when running at steady speeds. just try to accelerate and instant lag before acceleration occurs. sounds like a carburated car "blubbering" noise just before it picks up. i guess i could have reversed the o2 sensors, will check out when it quits raining and warms up. thanks all.

Backwards o2 sensors. May be worth converting to OBD1 to be honest. I traded my OBD0 distributor for an OBD1 basically. And then the ECUs are about the same value, still selling my OBD0 ECU. But then you just need the jumper harness. It's about $40 to convert after you sell what you have. Worth it in my opinion. It makes it a lot easier. Also, you can run the 1 wire O2 with OBD1. Trust me. You just have to disable the heater circuit on the chip in your OBD1 ECU.
