Coil shield cracked and CEL now on
As I was replacing my distributor rotor, the coil shield broke and I assumed no harm no foul if I just left it off.. I now have a cel on with code p1381. I've read that even putting the ignition coil shield on backwards can cause a cel to be thrown. Can anyone confirm this?
I took the distributor cap back off to confirm no wires corroded and still all were intact with solid connections and everything seems to be ok..
FYI.. The cars a 99 integra gsr..any help would be awesome

The CYP sensor has a fault. Either a high resistance wire, or the sensor is damaged or defective. Unless you can source another CYP sensor from another distributor, replace the distributor if the resistance checks out.
