Idle issues after cleaning IACV
So I have a 89 ef Converted to obd1 with a b18.
The other day I was checking up on some stuff trying to fix another problem with the car, and I decided to clean out the IACV.
So after I was finished I put it back on and yes the o rings and gasket were still there. I bleeded the cooling system and then started the car, after it warmed up it idles at 1800rpm before it use to idle at 600 rpm. Anyways then I said ok let me just adjust the idle, so I warm up the car unplug IACV and I go to turn the idle adjustment screw and nothing happens. I even took it out and it did nothing to the idle just a whistling noise from the throttle body when I pulled it out. Also when im doing this I realized after I unplug the iacv the idle goes from 1800 to 150 or 200 rpm. So whatever I cleaned out the hole where the idle screw goes and kept trying to adjust it but nothing. I then turned off the car pluged in the iacv reset the ecu and boom the idle is back at 1800rpm. What do you guys think it could be? Could the idle adjustment screw be bad? or maybe the thorttle body is bad like the threads for the screw or something... Not sure what to really think on this one.

Maybe you broke a vacuum hose some where. Check that. I know when I had a misfire on cylinder 1 my car would idle at 1300 RPM with the IACV. Then without it, it would drop to 500 or so.
Also, when i was cleaning my IACV I also was re wiring some things one of them being the Coolant temp sensor plug and the wire came out of the plug, so I have to go to the junkyard for a new one so right now thats the only CEL I have. Maybe this could be causing the high idle? Cold start it idles at 1200-1400 and then just goes up as it warms up.
