"hondata s300 issue"
Hi all,
I'm having problems with my s300 board.
I use to use it succesfully with p28 ecu with my previous set up. Then I broke the engine, put the engine out and left the car at the back yard for a few months.
After a while, we need to use it at my friend's car. But we couldn't able to connet to the ecu. It always gave us error message. Then we put a new base map in to it. We started the engine. The car worked but not properly, than it gave error code. We downloaded the map in to our pc and we saw that the base map deformed comletely as you can see in the pictures linked below. We tried the same ceremony again and again and but we always saw the deformed base map.
What we did to solve the problem;
1. We used the same s300 board with another ecu. result= the board deforms the base map.
2. We downloaded the newest version of s300 in to another pc which i,s virus free. result= the board deforms the base map.
3. We cleared/erased the ecu. result= the board deforms the base map.
do you know what the problem and the solutions are?

contact hondata tech support and give them the info on the board. ask them if it is actually a genuine hondata board. you may have a counterfeit board, and those do go bad pretty often. or your board may simply be bad, and hondata can assist you in testing it and possibly replacing it for free or for a lower cost than buying a new one.
1. Check if your hondata is genuine: http://www.hondata.com/s300_counterfeit.html
2. Contact the dealer you purchased the unit from to see if your unit is still under warranty. http://www.hondata.com/warranty.html

There are a few technical explanations for memory storage issues. In short, there's either a hiccup when translating and organizing the incoming information, or the memory itself is defective.
Either way it requires replacing components, which only Hondata can (legally) do.
MTBER has the bottom line though. It has to be replaced.
If it's counterfeit, you can get a discount on a new one. If it's under warranty, it "should" be exchangeable.
