is the cv joint gone or is it still usable? i had an eh(94 civic dx) and i replaced both sides of the axle, you can get a refurbished one at like cap auto parts...... other a-parts stores. but it is a bit difficult if u have never done it before.
More economical to replace the entire axle assembly....go to your local automotive store, axles w/ boots are like 140, you get 100 back core charge for turning in your old axles.....and what kinda honda owner are you, you dont have the Shop Manual....shame on you, go pick it up, it helps you do all this stuff man

How long have you been riding on torn boots? Are the cv axles clicking or making noise, more then likely if it has been awhile you may want to change out the cv axles cause it has probably already been exposed to dust and dirt. If it has been awhile, I would suggest replacing the cv axles.
yeah ive been riding on the torn boots for about 2 months now
and yeah its making the damm annoying clicking noise when i turn and when i brake also.. are the cv axles the same thing as the axles or is that somthing different??

Sounds like u need to get your axles rebuilt. Take them to your local axle shop and for around 40bux(each) they will regrease them, new boot and bearings if needed.
go to pepboys it will be 60 bucks for the passenger axle and 80 for the driver side + you trade in your old/broken axles. oh yeah they come with a lifetime warranty.
these are their prices for b-series axles.

good luck and keep us posted...btw..i think you should change your axles too..my cousin was driving for a month with torn cv boots and broke both his axles while he was on his way home...same annoying clicking noise...if u are able to drive till this weekend without breaking an axle, consider yourself lucky
..good luck on em' though...

yia. you shoudl get new axles. there was one time i was driving home. and i took the clicking noise forgranted. n broke my axles. you might as well change your axles to be safe.
Yea when i found one of my boots was cracked i didnt know how long the CV Joints had been exposed. They werent clicking or anything but i figured to replace them anyways. So i just had a new axle put on, plus it has a lifetime warranty, so if it breaks i get it fixed for free.
Your CV Joints are like your Shoulder...Its a ball and socket joint...Now get a little sand in that grease and its like sandpaper...It will wear away the 2 parts until there is so much clearance that you will here the clicking noise...Nowadays, no one rebuilds stock axles...Its cheaper to get a rebuilt axles and trade in your defective axles as cores...Somethings like Axles and Wheel Cylinders don't get rebuilt nowadays...

well its now official i'm doing it this weekend. I just got my check for 425!!! some guy rear ended(actualy he kinda strolled into me) into me with his 2001 ford ranger
and all it did was leave a black mark(size of a cigarette pack) from the rubber of his bumper and left 2 little scrapes from his 2 screws on his license plates
and of course i took it the honda dealership so i can get the most money out of it
got the check today and time to go find some axles and cv boots and recommendations of where i should go an purchase them???? i'm going to look in the yellow pates right now!!!
