Selling a CRX, need osme advice from owners..
Well here's my situation, I bought a CRX shell a while ago and I was planning on putting a B16 in it and it would be my winter car. But that never happened and I dont need a winter car anymore.
So I've got a shell which I have $1200 invested. It's a 88 CRX HF with Si knuckles and suspension with Skunk2 coil overs. It's got 157,000 miles on the odometer and has a salvaged title (stolen before. It has full interior and is in awesome shape. Here's a pic:
No longer has slipstreams, stock 13's.
So here's my dillema, I've been trying to buy just a stock engine(D15B2 or I was trying to get a Si D16A6) but people sell them for so damn much it's crazy. They want like $600 sometimes.
So what I want to know is how much you guys think I could get with it with just a stock D series engine in it compared to a B16 in it? The B16 will cost a little more to be in but if I could make it up in how much I could sell it for I would go for it.
So what do ya think, B16 or SOHC? How much could I get for the car with each in it?
Thanks in advance.

Well hook me up with one of these guys cause I need to find one that cheap. Lowest Si engine within 5 hours of me was $400 bucks. I found a D15B2 9 hours from me for $300.
It may because I need everything to do the swap, engine, tranny, ecu, and mounts. I have the shiftlinkage, axels and wiring harness.

I wouldn't swap the engine if your intention is to sell it. Once you pay for the engine, mounts, axles, shift linkage, and the rest of the little costs you will have more invested than you will get out. Try to find a good si engine and sell it as a stock CRX. Stock CRX's normally return a greater percentage of the invested money than modded ones, unless you find the right buyer. Good Luck

Sounds pretty logical. Well, So far I've got $1200 invested. I'll spend at least $500 more. You guys think I can get around $2000-2500 for the car? I'll be selling in the paper for hopes of just a normal non honda enthusiast to buy it.
I sold my fairly stock crx with 177,000 miles for $3,500 to a guy who wanted a Honda for his commuter car. Be patient and ask more than what you expect to get out of it. You may get lucky and find a buyer who is too sheepish to bargain.
