92 civic non vtec hatch. heard the wiring for vtec was already at strut tower?

92 civic non vtec hatch. heard the wiring for vtec was already at strut tower?
I have looked through some posts but could not really find a answer for what i was wanting to know. I have a jdm d15b(vtec) in my 95 hatch (the bodies wrecked above the quarter window) and I recently picked up a nice shell with a d15b7 already in it.I'm not sure what kind of harness I currently have in my 95 but I have heard on the 92 non vtec hatchbacks the vtec is wiring already to the strut tower.
My question is do I have to use a ex harness or can I just wire it up to the wiring on the strut tower with a dx harness . I know its probly a stupid question alot of this computer based mechanics confuses me because I have mainly had pre 90's truck with 305 350's etc.
