Default anyone ever tried one of these?

what do you think, has its own o2 sensor, could this be a cheaper way around the wideband since its using its own o2 sensor?

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=15975

what are the disadvantages to using something like this compared to a wideband?

"displays air/fuel ratio from approximately 12 up to 15:1....."

when you're tuning a car, approximations are a good way to make it go boom.

Everything. A standard 02 sensor has no real capability to tell you what the a/f ratio is outside of 14.7:1, it can only express rich or lean. A wideband and proper sensing unit cost ~$1500 because it can accurately express any functional a/f ratio you could run on the engine. Unless you just need the wideband sensor itself, this is one of the best portable units.

you need the display and the unit too. it costs about 29x for the display and the wideband and you still need the o2. but for a kickass wideband setup that is a deal. i still need to solder mine together.

Amen, I got my techedge kit hooked up (finding a sensor was a BITCH) but I love it and have no quams, its even more accurate then the wideband I tuned with on the dyno (reason being their wideband was in my tailpipie... my wideband is before the cat).

Sensors are listed on their web page (somewhere). I got mine from NAPA.

The thing totally rock, esp with Hondata.

I got mine from napa too, but thepartsbin is the cheapest... if only they had it in stock... you have to call and check every once in a while... and i wouldn't trust the summit one
