SPECS: Stock 1997 jdm type-r motor, p73 ecu.

So, im never buying gas from random gas station again. "76, chevron, shells" will be my only fuel stations. So i was thinking as long as its 91 premium, the station wouldn't matter...WRONG! I recently filled up the tank using "MOIBLE gas station". She ran horrible, engine purges, and mpg crap. So last night the gas light came on and i feel her up with SHELL $41.00, 91 premium. She run 100% smoother, no lags and no more purges. I always thought to myself, gas is gas and its 91 premium so it will burn okay. wrong wrong.

 

I only run Shell 93. When I say only, if you've ever been out with me and I needed gas, I chance running out to GPS the nearest Shell lol.

I bet it would've ran fine if you filled up at a different Mobil station.

 

I run 91 90% of the time. Zero issues.

 

I use 93

 

I try to use Sunoco and Shell 93.

 

mobil is the largest oil company in the world.

possible there was water or crap in the tank of the station you went to.

still i only put top tier gas in my nice cars.

google top tier gas and it will explain the difference in retail gasoline

 

yeah, maybe just that station was bad, just looked up mobil its up there with the rest of the brands.

 

Everyone says Arco gas sucks. My 1994 Civic with 394,000 miles doesn't think so. The 97 ITR I had 12 years ago ran on Arco 91 just fine too.
