Default Oil leak around oil pan.

I looked around for the answer, but could find anything substantial.
I have been noticing the leak around the front side of my oil pan.

I dropped the oil pan replaced the gasket, but still getting a leak.

Then I replaced the oil pan with the new one, but still getting a leak(about quart a week.)

I don't really see any leaks from the top of engine of the head.

I am puzzled by the greasy-dirty area above the oilpan gasket area(AC compressor). But it doesn't appear to be wet like the area on the oil pan.

Use an engine degreaser and clean it all off, then run the engine for a bit untill you see exactly where it is coming from. 94

x2 LOTS of it lol looks like my 94 b18c1 getting it hot tanked soon then will be inspecting for leaks. it's near impossible to find when the engine is that dirty.

only think you can do

too many places to guess

the oil pan, valve cover and distributor / vtec solenoid are the most common place but that's only a guess and averages.

clean it all and watch, do check under the distributor and vtec solenoid even if you see it lower. oil runs down from there and it's not always visible at a glance

I cleaned the motor pretty well and found nothing wrong with any other engine areas. Looks like the leak is still coming from the oil gasket. Since I have just changed the oil pan and the gasket, I am thinking that the leak is caused by the overpressure in the oil pan during the movement. This in turn caused by the exhaust gases entering from the cylinder or two. So there is a possible piston ring issue.

What do you guys think?

that's not a feasible possibility lol bad rings just causes low comp and oil burning. you seem confused

felpro behaves just like oem

the 2 main reasons you guys have leaks are #1 you don't clean the block and pan well enough before you install. this means 800 grit sandpaper and brake clean for the final pass. you need to get that oil film off the pan paint especially

#2 you don't use a 1/4 torque wrench and torque in sequence to the correct torque, the pan also should be two stepped meaning you tighten the bolts to have torque then do a final pass to full torque. i can't remember the exact torque but it wasn't much, something like 100 inch pounds which is roughly 9 ft/lb

i installed a lot of these and they never leaked if they were done right

All,

We finally figure out. My waterpump and timing belt replacement was due about 20K miles ago. I just changed the timing belt, waterpump and along with that the seal of crankpulley shaft. We noticed significant grime build up in the area of crankpulley.
After all was set and done - no more leak.

Thank you for your help)))
