Default window channel rubber

Ok so here is the deal. I have a 95 civic coupe and the rubber that holds the door window in the channel came loose. Only in the front so when I rool up the window it pulls up the rubber and causes a gap in thetop ccorner when the window is up. This is causing water ti leak in and drip down my door. Any ideas how to fix this. What glue to use?

Clear silicone would be the most correct answer for a ghetto fix. Since I think those are press in gaskets, the actual correct answer is to replace with new.

I believe you are correct about it being a press in gasket. However I'm not sure it needs replacing since it is just sliding in the little metal channel it presses into

If it slides, it is no longer a snug fit, and won't seal correctly.

My driver's door is suffering from a similar issue. It seals enough for most things, but the pressure from an automated car wash has water coming in.

Clear silicone is still the answer to rig up a fix with the existing rubber. Expect a 24 hour cure time, but it remains flexible enough to stay sealed over time.

Use a two part epoxy glue between the metal Chanel and the rubber guide. Then spray WD-40 in the rubber guide where the window sits. That helps lube the window so it won't grab the rubber and pull on it.

WD-40? I dunno man, mostly solvent. Good anti-corrosive tho.
Probly silicone spray would be better?

Had the same issue with my 88 HB; I bought a new window gasket for the model, which is the entire rubber piece along the top side of the window. I pulled off the old one carefully and noticed it was all cracked inside. Because of the cracks, the rubber gasket would not wedge back into the metal bracket. This is why my window leaked.

Once I replaced the gasket all along my window, by simply snapping it in place, it took about two weeks for the window to line up and close correctly. I left the window up for another week and it was fine after that. The new gasket even fixed the wind hissing noise whenever I drove with my window up.

Hope this helps!
