DASHBOARD GAUGES/LIGHTS
Car 1990 HONDA ACCORD EX 4 door 187,000 miles. I have had this oil light problem for a while now but recently I have found out that I have some type of electrical problem short or something in it because when I hit the dash a little the oil light comes on every single time along with that sometimes before turning the key on the normal would be engine light battery light oil light but sometimes the battery light nor oil light will come on before start-up I was just wondering if anyone could help me in finding out how to fix this in the wiring is it hard to get behind the GAUGES where the wiring is? Thank you for everyones replies in advanced.
Sounds like it could be the printed circuit board on the gauge cluster or a bad connection between the wire harness and cluster.
You need to remove the gauge cluster to get at the wiring harnesses.
Your best bet would be to get your hands on a shop manual for the 90-93 Accord. If you look on www.CB7tuner.com there may be a DIY on how to remove the cluster. IIRC it's not all that hard.
With a few simple tools you can have the cluster out and check the clusters printed board solder points and wiring harness. I have all the info for the 5th gen Accord, wish I could be more specific with the 4th gen. Best of luck
