HELP!!!! gauge cluster/turn signal/clock problem.....
all right guys, i bought a car from my friend and a couple of things are going on. first off, the gauge cluster only has the alternator light on, no oil pressure light, CEL, water temp, tach, e-brake, nothin comes on.
second, the clock doesn't work
third, the turb signals don't work, but the hazard lights do.
my question, is there a common ground that all these circuits would use? i have serached and can't find anything. any help woud be awesome. thanks.

I'm having the same problem, and My temp gaueg and fuel gauge arent working either. They worked last night and this morning the only thing that works is the alt light.

in response to the cluster lights not working, there is a small unlabeled plastic box with a wire harness going to it (i think a 4 pin harness) mounted up underneath the dash, driver side, toward the right. Mine said "AK 22". This thing controls the guage cluster lights.
All that is in there is a small circuit board with the some resistors and diodes, and a nice big power transister.
Mine popped, smoked and fried when I was dumb and plugged the harnesses into the fuse box wrong, trying to do another project. After re-soldering the components inside this AK22 box, the lights worked again.
I sure didn't find anything about this mystery box in any shop manual. maybe this will help a few people.

Re: HELP!!!! gauge cluster/turn signal/clock problem..... (emotionisdead)
im having this problem on my 97 hatch but its not a fuse problem. I checked all the fuses and they are all good. I bought the car stripped with the cluster harness cut.. it must have shorted something but i dont know what. I installed a new cluster harness and a new cluster but the alternator light stays on. The only parts that work is the cluster lights, turn signals, and high beam. The MIL doesnt come on either. none of the gauges work at all. im lost.
