Default Violent (Driving) Shaking All Speeds: Recent

I was driving home on the highway and being pretty aggressive: weaving and accelerating hard.

My my steering wheel normally shakes a little (due to bad alignment) by it had just now became horrible! Now it shakes the whole floor and wheel, it almost makes a noise it's so bad. It's at all speeds: even 10 mph and gets worse with speed. I think I broke something...the body had 285k so something may be old/broken . And ideas ?!?

Maybe a bad steering rack? Or something came loose . Any ideas much appreciated!!

Tires are new, and recently balanced, lug nuts tight , and tire pressure good. Please help me !!

Anything anyone here might say would be pure speculation. Mechanical failures are easily identifiable by getting under your car and looking. If you're unsure how to fix them, we can help with that and I'm sure there are many people who are willing and able to give advice.

check axels, look for missing wheel weights, fucked up wheels/tires, suspension bushings. Think about what could break and what might cause a vibration and check those areas. Then check back in.

Thanks for driving like an asshat.

I would check ball joints for sure, could have thrown a belt in a tire?

Rub your hands on the face of the tire and see if you have a hump on it

Look under your car! Take both front wheels off and inspect! I had a violent vibration at all speeds when I put on too long of axles on my swap. It may have something to do with your axles, tie rods or ball joints.

Hello all.

Thank you do much for all your advice!!!

I brought it to a firestone compete (great people/ service) and they diagnosed it for FREE.

Turns our it was a bad belt in the tire , (the worse they ever saw ) it was the size of my fist and was a defective tire.

Tire was a General Altimax HP (195-60-15 )

I got it at Walmart they replaced it with a Goodyaer ( yes just one Goodyear and 3 General)

I'll use these for a little then just get 4 new 195-55 tires...

Thanks again for the input!!!
