Need thoughts on deleteing power steering
Hey everybody. Im working on a basic wire tuck right now. And I can't decide if I want to delete my power steering or not. My Teg is about to be lowered 2.5 inches. and I heard with that the steering response will be much better. but I also heard that there is some sort of loop that can be made. I don't really know what to do. ive done research and cant find an exact answer. please help me!
Here you go.
Response will feel more solid at speed, but if you dont like having to put some effort into turning the wheel at slower speeds I would just leave it on the car.

What brand rack should i get? And what do people mean when they "make a loop" like using a hose on the pump? What all should i take out for the delete? Sorry im just trying to figure this out

Some will use a power steering rack and remove the pump and just loop the lines at the rack. A power steering rack uses the steering fluid as lubrication so you are prone to more wear by looping a power steering rack. As far as brands, I can't help you there. I am still trying to decide which brand to get myself to replace the manual rack (300k miles) on my car. I will probably go through rockauto
another method is to open up the rack and remove the piston so effort is reduced..therefore making it a manual rack..did it on mine, its pretty decent.. a bit hard at lower speed, but not as bad as just a power rack without the pump..who job only takes about 30 min. once the rack is out of the car.
I don't miss my powering steering. I got a 98 hatch, stock with none and it gives your arms a work out if you drive in the city a lot
I think your able to connect more with the car with no assistance. But that's just me.
If ya got long skinny alien arms tho, you might wanna have the power steering to help ya

I did the full valve removal and loop on my Teg but i took it a little further by relocating the reservoir to the firewall under the intake and putting it in line of the loop as to keep it lubed. I drove it befor i added fluid and it was even harder got smother after i added fliud
also i had a hard as hell to turn steering at a stop but was really nice when moving.
after i got my camber set back to stock it was very ez to turn when sitting still
